Today, the environment is becoming more and more important to all of us and because of this, Meriton is incorporating the latest thermal, energy and water saving initiatives into its new developments. Working with the councils, government and building product manufacturers, Meriton will strive to build environmentally responsible buildings.

Meriton developments comply with Basix and/or Nathers

BASIX:

Introduced by the NSW Government, BASIX, the Building Sustainability Index, ensures homes are designed to use less potable water and be responsible for fewer greenhouse gas emissions by setting energy and water reduction targets for house and units. BASIX is one of the most robust sustainable planning measures in Australia, delivering equitable and effective water and greenhouse gas reductions across NSW

NATHERS:

Nathers is an initiative of the Ministerial Council on Energy. NatHERS is administered by the Energy Efficiency Working Group and managed by the Australian Greenhouse Office.

In 2006, the Australian Greenhouse Office introduced major revisions to NatHERS to suit an advanced second generation of energy rating software.
