NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell Opens Vantage Rhodes

NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell says the completion of a 24-storey apartment building in western Sydney by billionaire developer Harry Triguboff was a good example of co-operation between government and the private sector.

Mr Triguboff’s company, Meriton, paid $35 million towards the $90 million clean-up bill of the Rhodes peninsula, which used to be a highly polluted industrial site
and is now a high-density residential district.

Mr O’Farrell said he took his hat off to Harry as an Australian success story. "[He’s] a bloke who came here without much, saw the opportunities here, was determined to work hard and has created opportunities for other people," Mr
O’Farrell said.
