Western Sydney shines as Meriton Suites celebrates another major win
23 October 2026
Western Sydney is going from strength to strength, and Meriton Suites is right in the heart of the action, celebrating another prestigious tourism award as the region prepares to welcome one of Australia’s most exciting new cultural attractions.
Meriton Suites Liverpool has taken out the Platinum Award for Apartment Hotels and Unique Accommodation at the Western Sydney Tourism Awards, adding another impressive achievement to the group’s growing collection of industry accolades.
“I am very proud of my team and what they have achieved. Winning awards is always pleasing, but maintaining the standards that earn those awards is even more important,” Mr Triguboff said.
He said Meriton Suites Liverpool was particularly well-positioned to benefit from the opening of Western Sydney International Airport, offering travellers a comfortable and convenient accommodation option.
“With flights arriving late from Singapore and departing early in the morning, travellers from the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, North Shore and regional areas will appreciate having somewhere comfortable to stay before or after their flights, Mr Triguboff said.
“Convenience is important, but so is quality, and that is what we deliver.”
Meanwhile, excitement is building just a little further east as Western Sydney prepares to unveil another landmark attraction – the spectacular Powerhouse Parramatta museum.
Opening on the weekend of November 7 and 8, the $915 million museum is Western Sydney’s first state cultural institution and the largest cultural infrastructure project undertaken in New South Wales since the Sydney Opera House.
Anticipation is already running high, with the 23-day Opening Festival full booked.
Visitors will be able to explore five landmark opening exhibitions featuring more than 3,000 objects, celebrating everything from aviation and innovation to fashion, shopping culture, art and First Nations storytelling.
The $915 million budget for the museum including a $75 million philanthropic contribution is aiming for two million annual visitors.
For visitors wanting to experience everything the new museum has to offer, Meriton Suites has two exceptional accommodation options virtually on its doorstep.
Meriton Suites Church Street is located directly next door to Powerhouse Parramatta, while Meriton Suites George Street is just a two-to-three-minute walk away.
Mr Triguboff said the museum would provide another compelling reason for visitors to spend more time in Parramatta.
“With two of our Meriton Suites only minutes away, why not make a weekend of it?” he said.
“Western Sydney is growing rapidly, and it is wonderful to see major attractions like Powerhouse Parramatta bringing even more people to the region.
“I hear the museum is extraordinary. I won’t be joining the opening crowds, but I am certainly looking forward to seeing it sooner rather than later.”
With award-winning accommodation, a new international airport and a world-class cultural destination, Western Sydney is rapidly becoming a destination in its own right – and Meriton Suites is perfectly positioned to welcome its visitors.
